Jayde, C'25
- Major Philosophy, Politics, and Economics
- Hometown El Paso, Texas
For years, Jayde dreamed of being a Quaker, but she wasn’t sure if she would be able to afford the cost of a Penn education. Once Jayde was accepted, her Named Scholarships helped make attending Penn a possibility. Jayde has decided to major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a concentration in distributive justice. During her first semester, Jayde found that her Gender & Society course allowed her to learn about topics and issues that she had never been exposed to before. To continue expanding her boundaries, Jayde is taking French classes and hopes to study abroad during her junior year. Named Scholarships have provided Jayde the opportunity to fully enjoy everything Penn has to offer. After Penn, Jayde plans to attend law school and become a public-interest lawyer.
“Being a Named Scholarship student means I am able to focus on my education without worrying about being able to afford it.”
